IOLITE® 3xMEMS
Low-Noise Triaxial MEMS Accelerometers and Inclinometers
Vibration sensor and data acquisition for condition monitoring of gearboxes, fans, motors, blowers, and any other rotating machinery in automotive, mining, pulp, paper, iron, steel, chemical, cement, HVAC, facility management, and power production.
IOLITE 2xASI device features two analog sensor inputs and one tacho input. The device works together with an ASI-1xVIB-50g vibration probe with a 10 kHz accelerometer and temperature sensor. The solution is bundled with an award-winning DewesoftX software that provides an easy-to-use machine condition monitoring setup.
Acceleration in the range from 0 Hz up to 10kHz (from ASI-1xVIB-50g) can be monitored with the use of IOLITE 2xASI in combination with the ASI-1xVIB-50g sensor. It is an ideal device for condition monitoring of bearings, fan blades, or other low to high-speed rotating equipment elements.
The ASI 1xVIB-50g sensor has a very low noise performance of 25 µg/√Hz spectral noise density. The RMS noise, in the range from 10 Hz to 10kHz is 3mg.
IOLITE 2xASI and ASI 1xVIB-50g are an ideal combination to monitor the acceleration, velocities, displacements, speed, and temperature of the machinery.
Multiple devices can be easily distributed and synchronized over large distances using a single inexpensive CAT6 cable that can span up to 50m node-to-node. By using optical converters, even distances of more than 20 km between the devices can be covered while still keeping a 1us synchronization between the devices.
The IOLITE 2xASI are EtherCAT-based devices and are synchronized down to 1μs device to device. This is very important when performing condition monitoring of the same machinery since the ambiental vibrations not correlated to the machine can be excluded.

IOLITE 2xASI device features two analog sensor inputs and one tacho input, packed in an IP20 case. Two analog channels of the device feature anti-alias filtering, A/D conversion, and digital filtering. Analog input channels were designed to be used with the Dewesoft ASI-1xVIB-50g vibration probe. The tacho channel is meant to be used with 1 pulse per rotation RPM sensor. The device automatically converts the signal into RPM.
A microprocessor inside the IOLITE® 2xASI data acquisition module transmits the data samples over EtherCAT protocol (CAT6 cables) into DewesoftX data acquisition software running on a Windows PC. Alternatively, it can also transmit data to any 3rd-party controller running EtherCAT master on any platform.
The Dewesoft ASI-1xVIB-50g is a vibration probe packaged in a small aluminum housing consisting of two sensors: a) a single-axis accelerometer with 0-10 kHz bandwidth and analog voltage output and b) a temperature sensor with a digital interface. The probe is rated with IP66 ingress protection and a -20 to 85 ℃ temperature range.
IOLITE-2xASI & ASI-1xVIB-50g is designed as a tailor-made condition-based monitoring solution. They are ideal for permanent condition monitoring of fans, blowers, HVAC, pumps, and other rotating equipment.
EtherCAT® protocol allows the IOLITE® 2xASI devices (and other IOLITE modules) to be easily distributed across large distances. Devices can span 50m node-to-node with only one low-cost Ethernet CAT6 cable running between them for signal, power, and synchronization.
By using optical converters even distances of more than 20 km between the devices can be covered while still keeping a 1us synchronization between the devices.
ISO and other vibration evaluation standards often set allowable vibrations and alarm or trip conditions for various machinery based on velocities or displacements.
Even though the ASI 1xVIB-50g is a 1-axis accelerometer, it can be also used to precisely measure velocity or displacement by integrating the acceleration and applying appropriate filtering. The task is straightforward thanks to the DewesoftX data acquisition software. It only takes one checkmark to calculate velocity and displacement.
Hardware repairs or replacements are expensive. Therefore IOLITE-2xASI and ASI 1xVIB-50g devices were put through in-depth product validation tests that ensure reliable operation within their specifications.
Standard testing procedures include vibration and temperature cycle tests to check the durability and specify drifts in measured acceleration.
The ASI 1xVIB-50g vibration sensor is available in a waterproof aluminum casing. The enclosure is designed to be mounted in harsh environments and is fully waterproof. It complies with IP66 environmental rating. Sensors can operate in a wide temperature span from -20°C to 85°C.
The IOLITE 2xASI data acquisition device is available in an IP20 enclosure. However, If a waterproof case is required, it can be designed and delivered according to the specifications.
IOLITE data acquisition device can be installed for long-term or permanent monitoring. This kind of measurement requires efficient data storage. For that, we provide Dewesoft Historian service. Historian is a time-series database service based on the MQTT messaging protocol for the Internet of Things (IoT).
