New KRYPTONi-8xRTD-HS: The Ultimate Temperature Measurement Module

Jaka Ogorevc
May 22, 2024

The KRYPTONi-8xRTD-HS is an enhanced version of the existing KRYPTONi-8xRTD temperature module. It is boasting a high acquisition speed of 10 kS per second per channel. The data acquisition device enables isolated temperature measurement through resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and ensures complete channel-to-channel isolation.
The primary goal of the KRYPTONi-8xRTD-HS is to meet the increasing demand for reliable temperature measurements in challenging EMC environments, such as on the stator of an electric motor or near inverters.
This module not only enhances EMC immunity on the digital side compared to its predecessor but also incorporates an analog antialiasing filter and digital FIR filters to eliminate undesired frequencies. Leveraging Dewesoft filtering technology, this results in a noise floor reduction down to -130 dB at a sampling rate of 10 S/s.
The device is robust, featuring IP65 environmental protection and 100G shock resistance. The KRYPTONi-8xRTD-HS is an ideal device for use in challenging conditions, including high temperatures, vibrations, and shock environments.
The input connector of the KRYPTONi-8xRTD-HS module is the 6-pin LEMO 0B. The module uses a new 24-bit ADC with sampling rates of up to 10 kS/s per channel. This enables the RTD-HS to be used in the most dynamically demanding applications to record transients of temperature shocks.
The high sampling rate feature is enabled as an optional upgrade.
