Announcing DS-GYRO3: A High-Performance Inertial Measurement Unit

DS-GYRO3

Introduction

The DS-GYRO3 is an inertial measurement unit (IMU) device based on a high-performance Micro-Electro-Mechanical System sensor (MEMS). It has been designed to meet the needs of a wide range of applications.

The DS-GYRO3 device can output and store the following data:

  • Standard inertial measurement parameters (accelerations and angular rates in all three axes).

  • A magnetometer output.

  • Important diagnostic information.

  • Additionally DS-GYRO3 calculates and outputs also attitude, pitch and roll, as well as a relative heading values.

The DS-GYRO3 interfaces with the PC via a USB connection. The award-winning data acquisition software DewesoftX is included. The data from the DS-GYRO3 can be visualized, processed, and recorded to computer's hard drive.

Inertial data can be fully synchronized with other Dewesoft instruments, including data from analog and digital sensors of all kinds, bus data such as CAN bus, video, and more. 

DS-GYRO3 is powered directly via USB power. The USB cable with a locking mechanism is included in the package. The locking mechanism eliminates a separate power cable and ensures a solid mechanical connection.

DS-GYRO3 chassis is rated with IP68 environmental protection. The temperature operating specifications are -40°C to +85°C, making it ideal for many environments.

DS-GYRO3 can also output its measured data over the CAN protocol. The CAN DBC configuration file is included with the package.
